Abu Dhabi to get its very own cutting-edge entertainment venue: Sphere

Abu Dhabi’s entertainment scene is about to get a major boost.

Sphere Entertainment Co. and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) announced that they’re teaming up to bring the world's second Sphere venue to the city.

Known for its high-tech, immersive shows, the first Sphere opened in Las Vegas in September 2023, drawing global attention with acts such as U2 and the Eagles.

The Abu Dhabi Sphere will offer a new kind of entertainment experience, blending advanced technology with storytelling in a 20,000-capacity venue. From concerts to multi-sensory performances, the Sphere is set to become a key attraction for both locals and tourists.

H.E. Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of DCT Abu Dhabi, sees the project as part of the city’s push to stay ahead in entertainment: “Bringing Sphere here aligns with our Tourism Strategy 2030. It’s about creating unforgettable experiences and setting new standards in immersive entertainment.”

Once open, it will also serve as a platform for licensed content and original shows, redefining entertainment in the UAE.
