An exciting line up of live events at The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi



The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) will host an exciting lineup of live music events, poetry recitals, and theater performances throughout February for its Season 8 spring schedule.

Here's what's on:

Barzakh Festival 2023: CGS – Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino and Lemma


The Barzakh Festival is back for its seventh edition, with four bands performing over two nights that blend cultures, styles, and genres. The festival creates a meeting place of musical streams that crosses diverse cultures. Global-minded musicians reflecting varied influences and identities, bring the contemporary and the traditional together in a boundary-shattering lineup filled with musical revelations. In its seventh, edition, this two-day festival features performances by CGS – Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino (Italy) and Lemma (Algeria). The festival will feature a nightsouk and food truck stations along with various fun family activities for guests to enjoy.

Barzakh Festival 2023 - ADG7 – Ak Dan Gwang Chil and Sahra Halgan

Yaa Samar! Dance Theatre: Last Ward


From PaYaa Samar! Dance Theatre’s contemporary performance, Last Ward follows one man’s journey towards death in a hospital room. Surrounded by the sterile mechanisms of modern medicine, the patient reflects on his life, relationships, and connection to place. Yaa Samar! Dance Theatre, from Palestine and NY, will make its UAE debut with the support of Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels.

Manifold – A Festival of Musical Diversity - 2023


Manifold – A Festival of Contemporary Music Performance features a creative blend of new and experimental music presented by an eclectic collection of international musicians and accomplished practicing artists from NYUAD’s faculty. The line-up for the fifth edition includes a world premiere of Michael Skillern: Two Hands, a Shell, and a Keyboard, a solo percussion that blurs the line between electronic and acoustic sounds, as well a second show that will be announced at a later date.

Ioannis Potamousis - Rachmaninoff etc Piano Recital


Celebrating the 150th anniversary of composer Sergei Rachmaninoff, Ioannis Potamousis presents a solo piano program featuring Rachmaninoff’s miniature and larger compositions side by side with composers that inspired him: Mozart, Tchaikovsky, and Chopin.
