Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets Set to Face Off in NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2024
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and the National Basketball Association (NBA) have announced that the 2024 NBA Abu Dhabi Games, presented by ADQ, will feature two preseason showdowns between the 17-time NBA champion Boston Celtics and the reigning NBA champion Denver Nuggets.
The games are scheduled for Friday, 4th October, and Sunday, 6th October, in Abu Dhabi.
The Celtics and Experience Abu Dhabi, the destination brand of DCT Abu Dhabi, have also announced an agreement that will include a series of youth and fan engagement activations in Abu Dhabi, including a basketball court renovation, a youth basketball clinic, and appearances by team mascot Lucky, during The NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2024 presented by ADQ.
Additionally, Experience Abu Dhabi will have broadcast, in-arena and digital advertising, and, as an official international marketing partner of the Boston Celtics, international marketing rights to promote basketball, Abu Dhabi and the Celtics outside the United States. The agreement also extends to NBC Sports Boston in the New England area, with Experience Abu Dhabi advertisements appearing during Celtics games.
About the teams
The Boston Celtics, one of the most storied franchises in NBA history, will bring a star-studded lineup to the UAE. Leading the team will be five-time NBA All-Star Jayson Tatum, three-time All-Star Jaylen Brown, 2021 NBA champion Jrue Holiday, and 2018 All-Star Kristaps Porziņģis. Holiday, who played in the inaugural NBA Abu Dhabi Games in 2022 as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks, will be making his return to the emirate.
The Denver Nuggets, fresh off their first NBA championship, will be led by two-time Kia NBA Most Valuable Player and six-time All-Star Nikola Jokić, alongside standout players Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon. Fans can expect an electrifying display of basketball from both teams as they prepare for the upcoming NBA season.
The NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2024 presented by ADQ will be broadcast live in the UAE and across the Middle East, as well as in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide through television, digital media, and social media platforms.
