Prada Mode Abu Dhabi: A Cultural Showcase at MiZa
Prada Mode arrives in Abu Dhabi for its eleventh edition, transforming MiZa in Mina Zayed into a vibrant cultural space on 11–12 February 2025. Curated by Theaster Gates, the event will feature immersive art, live performances, and culinary experiences, celebrating local talent and the creative contributions of Arab women.
Prada Mode is a global cultural series that transforms unique spaces into hubs of art, music, food, and entertainment. Designed as an immersive, members-only social club, Prada Mode has travelled to major cities like Miami, Hong Kong, London, and Dubai, offering once-in-a-lifetime creative experiences. Now, it’s making its way to Abu Dhabi, landing at MiZa in Mina Zayed on 11–12 February 2025.
This eleventh edition marks the third collaboration between Prada and renowned multidisciplinary artist Theaster Gates, bringing together a striking dialogue between tradition and modernity.
MiZa will be transformed into a dynamic artistic space, embracing the concept of duality. At the centre, a cylindrical structure will create two contrasting environments: an intimate, acoustic-driven interior fostering reflection and conversation, and a vibrant, high-energy exterior featuring live performances and DJ sets. The soundscape, co-curated by Gates and NTS (the independent music platform founded by Femi Adeyemi), will reflect this interplay of contemplation and celebration.
Cultural programming, led by curator Myrna Ayad, will highlight local and regional talent, with a special focus on the voices and creative contributions of Arab women. Expect thought-provoking discussions and performances that explore heritage, innovation, and artistic expression.
“This space is a reflection on the spiritual possibilities of quietude, the power of gathering, and reverence for Arab women,” says Theaster Gates. “As AI and digital realities increasingly shape our world, Prada Mode Abu Dhabi is an homage to human craftsmanship and our cultural histories. I’m honoured to deepen my relationship with Prada and celebrate the artistic traditions and futures of Abu Dhabi.”
Adding to the immersive experience, chef Salam Daqqaq will present a menu inspired by Abu Dhabi’s diverse communities, offering a taste of the city’s rich diasporic influences.
For the first two days, Prada Mode Abu Dhabi will operate as an exclusive members-only club. However, on 13–14 February, the event opens to the public, offering a chance to experience this unique fusion of art, music, and culture. Admission is free but subject to availability, so early registration is recommended.
