Explore Post-Impressionism at Louvre Abu Dhabi
Take in Louvre Abu Dhabi’s latest exhibit, “Post-Impressionism: Beyond Appearances”. The exhibit showcases iconic masterpieces from the Post-Impressionist period, including works by renowned artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Paul Cézanne, Georges Seurat, Henri-Edmond Cross, Emile Bernard, Paul Sérusier, Maurice Denis, and Odilon Redon. The exhibition unfolds in nine sections, each celebrating the individual styles and the shared themes that connect this era in art. Visitors can follow paths dedicated to Neo-Impressionism, Cézanne, Gauguin and Pont-Aven, Van Gogh, the Nabis, Toulouse-Lautrec, Odilon Redon, Prints, and the new movements that emerged. These sections offer an intimate look at the Post-Impressionist masters, allowing visitors to delve deeper into their works and ideas. The final section of the exhibition, includes works by Egyptian artist Georges Hanna Sabbagh, and illustrates the far-reaching influence of Post-Impressionism beyond Europe, and underscores the museum's dedication to expanding the art history canon.
